When commissioning devices on a site using the commissioning app or any other method of commissioning such as the cloud or the offline commissioning tool, there are settings that are required in order for a device to be deemed commissioned.
The commission state indicates the current step of the commissioning process that a given device location is currently on. This can help you to determine what requirements are still outstanding in order for the device location to be commissioned.
The current commission state for a device location can be viewed in the cloud by navigating to the grid view and clicking on the device location tab. This will list all of the device locations for the current site which will also show the commissioning state for each of those device locations.
The commission state will automatically update if the commissioning app is used to commission devices on the site. If devices are commissioned using the cloud or the offline commissioning tool then the commissioning state will have to be manually changed in the cloud.
The commission state falls under three categories: Address, Daylight harvesting and Task tune. Each field indicates what is required, if anything, to complete the commissioning process for that device location. For each one of the fields is the current state of progress for the type of commissioning. The address commission state is required but the other two can be set to not required.
Each state (with the exception of address) can have four potential states: Not commissioned, Not required (except address), In progress or Commissioned.
The default state for daylight harvesting and task tune can be changed in the site settings page. This means that when address commissioning is complete the states of the other commission states will be changed to their relevant default values that have been set for the site.
Address
Indicates the progress of setting valid addressing settings for all devices for the device location. The addressing settings that are required are:
Control gears:
- Address
- Groups
Control devices:
- Address
- Instance settings
- Label
- Identifier
- Targets
Daylight harvesting
Daylight harvesting is the process of setting up light sensors to change the arc level of the fitting based in the light coming from other sources such as outside light coming in through windows. All light sensors for the device location have to be setup with valid settings in order for this state to be marked as commissioned unless it is set to not required. Devices that do not have a light sensor component will move straight to the commissioned state.
