The Addressing page is where a user can find and commission uncommissioned devices. You can access it within the Addressing wizard by tapping the search button at the bottom of the screen.
- Next Device Settings.
The Next device settings define the information you want to apply to the device. The addressing process is built around the idea of a user walking into an area or room and sequentially finding each light in that space. The commissioning steps are:
Walk into the area to be addressed.
Select the group that the area is to be assigned to. If the group does not already exist, create it.
If the area also uses daylight harvesting or sub-groups, set the secondary group as required.
Select the first address that will be assigned to that room. This may come from a plan that has already been labelled. You can select both the lighting address and the switch/sensor address. Note that once you have addressed the first device in the room, the address in this section will auto-increment to the next available address.
After you have set the required Next device settings, you can use the methods on this page to physically locate the device you are looking for.
When selecting the Output or Input address, the user is shown a screen where:
Commissioned devices are shaded out.
Addresses with devices that are not yet commissioned are clearly identifiable.
Addresses with no device are shown in the default colour.
The user can select any address that is not already commissioned.
2. Addressing Methods
The addressing wizard contains 4 distinct addressing methods to effectively commission the different type of devices that maybe found on site. These methods cover
- Lighting / colour control products
- Emergency lighting
- Relays
- Input Devices
Additionally, the red circle for each method shows how many devices of that type are still remaining to be commissioned.
By selecting one of the addressing types, the user is shown a custom control that allows them to cycle through the lights to find the correct fitting. When the correct light has been identified, the user can press the Found it button to open the device editing page.
The following addressing methods are supported:
Lighting devices
Binary search (default and recommended)
Linear search
Emergency lighting

Push / selection (typically by pressing the test switch)
Relays

Input devices (such as switches and sensors)
