Authorised users can use the zencontrol commissioning app to connect directly to the local area network via a wireless access point. This allows the app to communicate with the zencontrol application controllers even when the building’s network infrastructure or internet connection has not yet been installed.
To enable secure connection in this mode:
- The user connects to the local area network and obtains a challenge key from the controllers.
-
The user then moves to an area with cloud access (for example, outside the building) and uses the challenge key to obtain authorisation to securely communicate with the application controllers. This authorisation is valid for 30 days. If the app has not synced with the cloud within that period, the user must repeat this process.
- Once the authorisation key is obtained, the app can connect to and commission the application controllers directly on the local network.
- Whenever the phone is able to connect to the cloud, site data is automatically synced back to the cloud. Any changes made to the site via the cloud or other applications are also synchronised to the phone. Each successful sync renews the app’s authorisation for a further 30 days.
