Under what circumstance should we use room controller or application controller?

The Room controller is recommended for its inherent ability to automatically address, group and perform basic commissioning of connected input devices. In addition, the room controller allows for simplified maintenance and automatic reconfiguration of replaced or moved devices. 

However, there are several applications where an application controller might be suitable, two of these are. 

1. Where the design of a building or existing wiring does not allow the installation of the room controller as a field mount unit. The Application controller can be installed in a standard Distribution board.
2. Where there is only one room or area to be controlled for a particular DALI line. In this instance an application controller and room controller would provide the same functionality.
