This guide will assist you in replacing a failed DALI device in a well-maintained system. It is important to keep track of information about the failed device, such as its brand and model number, time of failure, and installation position. This information can be useful in identifying patterns or recurring issues. The Zencontrol cloud makes the replacement process simple by automatically storing and linking this information for future reference and analysis.
The recommended method for replacing a device is through the Zencontrol app onsite, but it can also be done through the web portal. To replace a device through the cloud, follow these steps:
- Physically replace the failed device.
- In the Grid View page on the cloud, find the existing device that has failed and needs to be replaced. Right-click on this device line and select "Repair device."
- Under the Action section, choose "Replace device" and add notes for your reference.
- Under the Replace section, find and select the new device from the list. The list is ordered by the newest found device, so the new device should appear at the top.
- Fill in the Retest section if needed.
Zencontrol will then remove the old device from the listing and update the new device with the correct settings. It will also create a link to the old device in the device location log. This process may take a few minutes depending on the device, but it is done automatically and does not require any further action from the user.
