What is AppMode?

AppMode is a state that the controllers can be set to. It defines how the system will operate.

By default all controllers are not in the AppMode state. This allows the controllers to operate as if they are in control. In this mode the controller will optimize the layout and addressing of a DALI line to ensure the best setup. It will also remove and replace failed devices automatically and leave no trace of the failed or removed device.

When software is connected to the controllers, the controllers will automatically be set to AppMode. This allows you to rearrange devices as required without the controller changing them later. Automatic features which setup newly found devices still run, however the system will not remove failed devices or replace them automatically.
