A site owner is a user who has the highest level of access rights for a specific site within the zencontrol ecosystem.
Site owners have full control over:
Who can access the site
What permissions other users have
Which devices, controllers, and systems are associated with the site
High-level configuration and management of the site
There can be more than one site owner for a site. This is often useful for larger organisations, where responsibility is shared across multiple people or departments. Even when multiple site owners exist, they are collectively responsible for managing and approving access to the site.
Key responsibilities of a site owner include:
Authorising new users to access the site
Assigning appropriate roles and permissions (for example, commissioning users, read-only users, or maintenance staff)
Removing users who should no longer have access
Ensuring that access aligns with company policies, security requirements, and regulatory obligations
Overseeing who can commission, modify, or control the lighting and associated systems on the site
Because all access to zencontrol systems is driven by user accounts and roles, site owners play a critical role in maintaining security. They determine who is trusted to interact with the site and what those users are allowed to do.
