An orphaned wireless device is one that has been partially added to the zencontrol cloud but lacks a complete device and or device location. This situation typically occurs when the commissioning process is interrupted, experiences connectivity issues while being added, or a device was partially removed. Orphaned devices often can be identified by communications errors in the wireless thread status and have no linked device location. Note that not all devices in comms error are necessarily orphaned.
Procedure:
- Log into the zencontrol cloud interface.
- Navigate to Grid View.
- Select the Wireless perspective.
- Click on the Thread tab.
- Look through the list for devices showing a comms error status.
- Right-click on the thread row of the suspected orphaned device.
- Select "Remove thread" from the context menu.
- Confirm the action when prompted by the system.
This process will remove the partial Thread information from the cloud database, effectively resetting the device's status in the system. After this process, the device should become detectable as a new, uncommissioned device and can be recommissioned using the standard procedures.
