Instance 0-10V IN
The 0-10V IN instance acts as an analogue voltage input for the purpose of reading control signals from 0-10V and 1-10V controllers. This is one of 4 instances on this product, for details on other instances see. This instances type can be configured to be Pushbutton, Absolute Input (default), or Occupancy Sensor. The configurable instance type gives the user full control over how this instance is used. For examples on how to wire this instance, see How do I wire the zc-io-6?.
Instance Types
The instance type is configurable to the following types
Instance Type | Name | Description |
301 | Pushbutton | In this type the instance will act as a push button following the IEC 62386-301 standard. The input will act in a binary sense and no longer detect an analogue voltage. |
302 | Absolute Input | In this type the instance will act as a absolute input following the IEC 62386-302 standard. The instance resolution is configurable and will change whether the instance senses analogue voltage or acts as a binary input. |
303 | Occupancy Sensor | In this type the instance will act as a occupancy sensor following the IEC 62386-303 standard. The input will not detect a binary state as an indication for if motion is detected and will no longer sense an analogue voltage. |
306 | Voltage Sensor | In this type the instance will act as a voltage sensor following the IEC 62386-306 standard. The input will detect the voltage and produce an event value in mV. |
Pushbutton
When the instance is in this type, the input is now sensed as a binary input. The input switching voltage is 1.4V at the terminal where below this voltage is considered shorted and above this voltage (up to the products rated input voltage) is considered open. The instances active state and supply are configurable using the instances settings.
The instance active state determines if the instance is considered pressed when it is shorted or open. The instance supply setting controls if this instance is in sourcing mode or sinking mode. In sourcing mode it enables a < 2mA current limited 10V supply so that other controllers may sink current for the instance to sense. In sinking mode the instance does not provide any supply to the line and instead will sense a sourced current from another controller on the line.
Setting | Name | Setting Description | Configuration | Configuration Description |
192 | Input Supply | Controls if this instance is in sourcing mode or sinking mode | 0 | The instance is in sinking mode (default) |
1 | The instance is in sourcing mode
194 | Active State | Controls whether the instance is active when shorted or open | 0 | The instance is pressed when the input is shorted |
1 | The instance is pressed when the input is open (default) |
Absolute Input
When the instance is in this type it can act as a analogue voltage sense or a binary sense. When acting as a binary sense, the switching voltage is 1.4V at the terminal where below this voltage is considered shorted and above this voltage (up to the products rated input voltage) is considered open. When acting as a analogue voltage the instances input value is based on the ratio of the input voltage to the configured maximum voltage. The instances resolution and supply are configurable using the instances settings.
The instance supply setting controls if this instance is in sourcing mode or sinking mode. In sourcing mode it enables a < 2mA current limited 10V supply so that other controllers can sink current for the instance to sense. In sinking mode the instance does not provide any supply to the line and instead will sense a sourced current from another controller on the line.
The instance resolution setting controls if the instance acts as a binary sense or analogue voltage sense. For a resolution value of 1, the instance will act as a binary sense. For any other value of resolution, the instance will act as a analogue voltage sense. When acting as an analogue voltage sense the input value is the ratio of the sensed voltage multiplied by the resolution bit mask. The maximum voltage to scale against is configurable by 0.5V increments up to 24V (48). The voltage can be calculated using the following formula.
Where;
- voltage = sensed voltage
- input value = Instance Input Value
- resolution = Instance resolution
- maximum voltage = Maximum configured voltage
Setting | Name | Setting Description | Configuration | Configuration Description |
192 | Input Supply | Controls if this instance is in sourcing mode or sinking mode | 0 | The instance is in sinking mode (default) |
1 | The instance is in sourcing mode
193 | Resolution | Controls the instances resolution | 1 | The instance is acting as a binary sense with an active high state |
2-12 | The instance is acting as an analogue voltage sense (default 10)
194 | Active State | Controls whether the instance is active when shorted or open | 0 | The instance is pressed when the input is shorted as a binary sense |
1 | The instance is pressed when the input is open as a binary sense (default) |
|||
195 | Voltage Scale |
Controls the what voltage the maximum event value should represent, in multiples of 0.5V. Eg, resolution 10 = input value 1023 = 10V = 20 configuration |
1-48 | In multiples of 0.5V, the voltage that should be represented for the maximum input value. (default: 20) |
Occupancy Sensor
When the instance is in this type it acts as a binary sense to detect if motion has been detected. The input switching voltage is 1.4V at the terminal where below this voltage is considered shorted and above this voltage (up to the products rated input voltage) is considered open. The instances active state and supply are configurable using the instances settings.
The instance active state determines if the instance has detected motion when it is shorted or open. The instance supply setting controls if this instance is in sourcing mode or sinking mode. In sourcing mode it enables a < 2mA current limited 10V supply so that other controllers can sink the current for the instance to sense. In sinking mode the instance does not provide any supply to the line and instead will sense a sourced current from another controller on the line.

1 | The instance is in sourcing mode
194 | Active State | Controls whether the instance is active when shorted or open | 0 | The instance has detected motion when the input is shorted |
1 | The instance has detected motion when the input is open (default) |
