How far can I rout my switched active run?
The maximum recommended length of a switched active run is 20m.
Can I daisy chain my switched active devices from a single run?
No, it is strongly recommended not to daisy chain a switched active run across multiple switched active devices.
What are the risks of longer daisy chained loops?
Long cable runs and daisy chained loops often cause induced voltages which can cause switched active devices to falsely detect this noise as switched active inputs. This may result in phantom triggers to devices, which could cause the lights that input is targeting to unexpectedly turn on and off.
Routing the same switch to multiple devices increases the risks of induced voltages, and doesn't provide additional benefit.
Example: If devices 1, 2, and 3 are routed to the same switch, 1 toggle of the switch results in all 3 devices sending the same event at the same time.
How do I control several fittings from a single switched active switch?
Route the switch to the nearest device with a switched active input, and configure that devices switched active instance to target the devices/groups you want via the connected application controller. On zencontrol systems this is done via the zencontrol cloud.
