| Mode | Description | |
| 0x00 | Standard |
In this mode the Smart Driver enables and expects there to be a switched active momentary button (301), a sensor plugged into the smart sensor port with occupancy* (303) and lux (304). Entering this mode disables automatic detection mode. |
| 0x80 | Automatic |
In this mode the Smart Driver goes into an automatic detection mode where the ECD will detect if it has a sensor plugged into the smart sensor port*, whether the switched active input is active, and whether the switched active is momentary (301) or indicates occupancy (303)**. Entering this mode triggers the Smart Driver to restart its automatic detection mode and timeout. |
| 0x81 | Switched Active Push Button | In this mode, the Smart Driver functions exactly the same as Automatic mode, with the exception that it always treats the switched active input only as a momentary button (301). When Application Controller is active, short presses toggle OFF/RECALL MAX, and long presses dim. |
| 0x82 | Switched Active Absolute Input | In this mode, the Smart Driver functions exactly the same as Automatic mode, with the exception that it always treats the switched active input as an absolute position input (302). When Application Controller is active, a transition to active generates a RECALL MAX and a transition to inactive generates an OFF. |
| 0x83 | Switched Active Sensor | In this mode, the Smart Driver functions exactly the same as Automatic mode, with the exception that it always treats the switched active input as a sensor input (303). When Application Controller is active, the warn level is 1% by default. |
| 0x84 | Switched Active Sensor Warn 2.5% | In this mode, the Smart Driver functions exactly the same as Automatic mode, with the exception that it always treats the switched active input as a sensor input (303). When Application Controller is active, the warn level is 2.5% by default. |
| 0x85 | Switched Active Sensor Warn 25% | In this mode, the Smart Driver functions exactly the same as Automatic mode, with the exception that it always treats the switched active input as a sensor input (303). When Application Controller is active, the warn level is 25% by default. |
| 0x86 | Switched Active Central Battery | In this mode, the Smart Driver functions exactly the same as Automatic mode, with the exception that it disables the switched active ECD instance, instead directly monitoring the switched active input as a trigger to enter emergency mode. |
| 0x87 | Application Controller Mode | In this mode, the Smart Driver functions exactly the same as Automatic mode, with the exception that it forces the Application Controller to be on and remain on regardless of having an ECD address or any event which would otherwise disable it. |
* Sensor type will be automatically detected
** Switched active type is automatically detected based on how long the switched active input is active for; <30s is detected as 301, >30s is detected as 303
