Overview
Bus Unit Configuration is a configuration mode for a product (bus unit) as a whole. When changing a bus unit configuration the product may add, remove, change, or reset ECGs or ECDs.
How to Set
eDali
Bus Unit Configuration on zencontrol products that support it can be set using eDali. To set a bus unit configuration to a product;
ECG
The product must currently have an ECG for this method to work.
- Set ECG DTR0 to the mode to set
- Send eDali Command 0xDDxxD6
- Where xx is the ECG address byte (as documented in the standard IEC 62386-102)
- The currently active bus unit configuration will be replied
- If the mode you attempted to set was rejected then you will receive the old mode as a reply
- If the mode you attempted to set was accepted, then you will receive the new mode as a reply
- If the product does not answer then there is an error in the mode you are trying to set
ECD
The product must currently have an ECD for this method to work.
- Set ECD DTR0 to the mode to set
- Send eDali Command 0xBExxD6
- Where xx is the ECD address byte (as documented in the standard IEC 62386-103)
- The currently active bus unit configuration will be replied
- If the mode you attempted to set was rejected then you will receive the old mode as a reply
- If the mode you attempted to set was accepted, then you will receive the new mode as a reply
- If the product does not answer then there is an error in the mode you are trying to set
Memory Bank
Bus Unit Configuration on zencontrol products that support it can be set by writing to Memory Bank 1. This can be done using ECG or ECD commands, but the device must currently have one to support the commands. To set a bus unit configuration to a product;
- Write Memory Bank 1 index 2 (lock byte) to 85
- Write Memory Bank 1 index 27 to the mode to set
- Write Memory Bank 1 index 2 (lock byte) to 170
How to Query
Bus Unit Configuration on zencontrol products that support it can be queried from Memory Bank 0 or Memory Bank 1.
- Read Memory Bank (0 or 1) index 27
- The reply will be the currently active Bus Unit Configuration
