A virtual control device allows for a third-party device to to send switch press / sensor occupancy commands to zencontrol control devices that will interpreted and hence used like a regular physical input device.
The third party virtual switch/sensor can be used to trigger actions, sequences and function with other switches and devices.
Support
Virtual devices are supported on all controller products, virtual instance types can be configured on the ICD grid view page.
Setup
A user will need to enable the virtual device instances on each controller to use this feature. This is done on the devices page in the same way as a traditional DALI input device. The user can select from the virtual device types listed below.
Use
Through one of the supported interfaces, a third-party controller can issue switch press / occupancy commands directly to the virtual instance interface. For more information please refer to the Third party interface
Virtual instance Types
- Switch: Short Press / Long Press
- Absolute input: On / Off
- Sensor: Occupied / Not Occupied
Limitations
Each controller supports a maximum of 12 virtual switches.
