Why does the controller tell me that there is a short circuit?

From time to time products can fail, in some cases the DALI ballast or drivers can short the DALI line. In other cases, wiring mistakes or setup can lead to a DALI line short. Most installers know that finding a DALI short is a timely process which can sometimes leave the lights uncontrollable for some time.

The room controllers are able to identify the channel on which a short is present and isolate it from the rest of the DALI line. This significantly reduces the fault-finding time and leaves all other rooms operational.

The controller will inform you that a short has been detected for you to organise correction of the fault. On zencontrol room controller and LCM products the fault message will additionally identify the output channel(s) on which the fault is located.
