Staggered testing should be used to reduce the risk to the building occupants by scheduling the testing of smaller groups to occur over multiple days or at different times.
By selecting the number of groups to be used, the testing engine will automatically and randomly divide the emergency devices into groups. These groups will then be tested at different times as specified by the user. Selecting a larger number of groups helps reduce risk as less emergency devices are tested at the same time, additionally the probability of two adjacent emergency devices being tested simultaneously is reduced.
Staggering emergency tests is recommended and in some countries required by local regulations.
