No. zencontrol cannot directly give you access to a site.
Access to a site is controlled by the site owner. The site owner is responsible for managing who can access the site, what level of access they have, and when access should be removed.
If you need access to a site, you must ask the current site owner to add you.
Why can’t zencontrol give me access?
A zencontrol site may contain secure building information, system configuration, operational data, and access to controls that affect the site.
For this reason, zencontrol does not control access to individual customer sites on behalf of the customer. Access must be approved by the person or organisation responsible for the site.
The site owner owns and manages the site. zencontrol does not decide who should have access unless a formal dispute or ownership process is required.
What should I do if I need access?
The best course of action is to contact the current site owner and ask them to add you to the site.
If you are the building owner, property manager, facilities manager, or authorised representative, you should instruct the current site owner to add the required people, contractors, integrators, or service providers.
This may include asking the current site owner to:
- Add you as a site owner
- Add a new integrator or contractor
- Remove access for a previous contractor
- Change access levels for existing users
- Transfer long-term control of the site to the correct owner or property manager
Should the building owner become a site owner?
Yes. If you are the building owner, property manager, or person responsible for the site, it is good practice to become a site owner.
This allows you to manage site access directly. It also makes it easier to add or remove integrators, electricians, service providers, and other authorised users when your requirements change.
What if the current site owner will not add me?
In some cases, the current site owner may not add a new user or transfer access immediately. There may be reasons for this, including:
- Defects and liability period(DLP)
- Warranty periods
- Active support or maintenance agreements
- Contractual obligations
- Security concerns
- Non-payment or commercial disputes
- Responsibility for system performance or compliance
These matters should be resolved directly between the customer, site owner, integrator, contractor, or other relevant parties.
Does zencontrol have a dispute process?
Yes. zencontrol has a dispute process for site access and ownership issues.
However, this process is a last resort. It may require identification, proof of ownership, written authority, supporting documents, and other information before any change can be considered.
In some circumstances, zencontrol may not be able to add new site owners or users until certain conditions are satisfied. This may apply during Defects and liability period(DLP), warranty periods, active commercial disputes, non-payment issues, or other situations where access changes could create legal, security, or operational risks.
Who is responsible for site access?
Site access is the responsibility of the site owner.
It is not zencontrol’s responsibility to control access to your secure site. The site owner must decide who should have access and ensure that access is managed appropriately.
Summary
zencontrol cannot simply give you access to a site.
You should ask the current site owner to add you. If you are the customer or property owner, you should also consider becoming a site owner so you can manage access directly.
The dispute process should only be used when access cannot be resolved through the current site owner or responsible parties.
I can also make it shorter and more direct for a help-centre FAQ format.
