Pre-commissioning allows you to create control systems and device locations on the cloud before the physical control system and devices have been claimed and connected.
How to pre-commission:
Step 1: Prepare a control system for pre-commissioning
Option 1: If you would like to pre-commission devices on a new control system
Go to the Pre-commissioning > Control system tab in plan view.
Note: It is important to select the correct control system type that matches the physical control system you will be claiming later. If this is done incorrectly, you will have to delete the control system and start again.
Click to create and place control systems on the plan.
Now the control system settings can be edited as usual.
The control system can also be create through grid view and then placed on plan view if preferred.
Option 2: If you would like to pre-commission devices on an exiting control system
Usually the cloud will automatically create device locations when a new device is added to the Dali line and synced in. Since we are creating the device locations manually, this setting will have to be disabled. Do this by unchecking the 'automatically create device locations' check box on the Control System page.
Step 2: Create Device locations
Go to the Pre-commissioning > Device locations tab in plan view.
Select the desired fitting type, and control system. You can now click on the plan to create and place device locations.
Step 3: Claim a controller
Claim a controller the usual way via QR code.
If you pre-commissioned your controller in step 1, select it from the drop down instead of creating a new control system. If your pre-commissioned control system does not appear in the drop down, it most likely was pre-commissioned with the incorrect control system type.
Step 4: Assign devices to device locations
Once you have connected your devices to your controller and they have synced in, go to the Place > Device tab in plan view.
Drag the devices onto the device locations to assign them. Greyed out device locations already have a device assigned.
The device location can be selected and edited.
Remove the device and device location from plan view, but keep them assigned to each other.
Will delete both the device and device location from the cloud.
Will unassign the device from the device location. Leaving the device location on the plan and making the device ready to be assigned again. |
