Each controller has a limit to the number of active instances (per type). Should the limit be hit, the user is free to disable unused instances to reduce active counts. We particularly recommend disabling all unused instance on touchscreens as they can potentially have a large amount of instances.
The maximum active instances per instance type is listed below.
Each LCM/RCM or Application Controller supports:
- Sensors: 63 (of type IEC62386-303)
- Switches: 73 (of type IEC62386-301)
- Light Sensors: 63 (of type IEC62386-304)
- Absolute Inputs: 63 (of type IEC62386-302)
- No General Purpose Sensors (of type IEC62386-306)
For Pro level controllers (AC3, AC-PRO and Wireless Field Controllers):
- Sensors: 63 (of type IEC62386-303)
- Switches: 128 (of type IEC62386-301)
- Light Sensors: 63 (of type IEC62386-304)
- Absolute Inputs: 250 (of type IEC62386-302)
- General Purpose Sensor: 300 (of type IEC62386-306)*
Additional information on Pro controllers:
The amount of switches is increased to support zencontrol SSDv1 Touchscreens (16 switch instances per device).
Absolute inputs are increased to support zencontrol SSDv2 Touchscreens, which produce up to 31 Absolute inputs (and a temperature sensor in the form of a General Purpose Sensor instance).
*Support for utilisation of General Purpose Sensors to trigger etc to be added in future versions.
