Maximum I/O Cable Lengths for the zc-relay-4-pro and zc-io-8

For reliable operation on the zc-io-8 and zc-relay-4-pro the 8 x I/O connections need to be wired with appropriately sized cable.

The above figure shows the acceptable cable diameter in square millimetres vs the length of the cable run.

If the device is being installed in an electronically noisy environment it is the installers responsibility to check that electrical interference does not adversely effect the devices operation. 

Methods to improve signal integrity/immunity:

• Minimum separation of 50cm to live circuits for as much of the distance as practical.
• Cross all live circuits at 90 degrees
• For longer runs consider shielded cable
• Avoid routing near relay or switching loads in the switch board
• Consider moving the IO device closer to the interface and running DALI or other network out to that space
