The 4 Channel Relay range is a unique product in the zencontrol range. The zc-relay-4-pro and zc-io-8 products support configuring of the IO's as device type 5 dali output devices, or an input (ECD). Variants with no IOs cannot be configured in the following ways.
Configuring Outputs and Inputs
Configuring outputs and inputs is supported through the ECG/ECD operating modes. Unlike with a typical DALI device, the ECG/ECD mode is a shared mode for all on this product. Both the zc-relay-4-pro and zc-io-8 support incrementally changing the IOs from outputs to inputs. The configuration incrementally changes an output to an input starting from IO1 -> IO8.
The operating mode selected will dictate only the number of device type 5 outputs or inputs. Your operating mode labels may differ based on other configurations you have made to the device. x 0-10V + y switch(es) will determine the number of x device type 5 outputs and y inputs.
After changing operating mode, the device will factory reset. During this time the device may disappear from the cloud and controller. Wait some time and the controller will rediscover the reset device with the new counts.
Configuring Input Type
The inputs of this product support having their DALI type configured. The input is still a binary signal however the way this can be represented can be as a 301 Push Button, 302 Binary Absolute Input, or 303 Occupancy Sensor.
After the device is configured with instances, the instance type can be set in the Instance types -> Instance tab by changing the Type column of the instance to be configured. Each instance can individually have its own type set. All instances have a factory default of push button type.
Configuring Relay Behaviour
Relay behaviour is configurable via the product wide bus unit configuration. Where a product has device type 5 outputs and device type 7 outputs, the relays can be configured to act as a mains relay for the device type 5 output. This is a device type 5 standard feature, the device type 7 ECG will disappear in this configuration and the relay will be managed internally by the device type 5 output it is associated to. This being that the mains relay will be switched on while the arc level is on, and the relay will switch off when the arc level is off. This is for 1-10V devices that do not have an off state, allowing a relay to control power to them.
This can be set on the Device Location page by setting the Bus unit config option
| Mode | Description |
| Detached Relay Mode | Relays act as individual device type 7 outputs |
| Attached Relay Mode | Relays act as mains relays for their associated device type 5 outputs. |
The associated relays to IOs relationships are as follows
| Relay | IO |
| A | 5 |
| B | 6 |
| C | 7 |
| D | 8 |
