Here are the following steps required to commission a room to maintain a level of brightness throughout the day (daylight harvesting).
- At night with room set to the correct brightness, record Lux levels recorded by each lux sensor on the devices page. To see the lux level measured, the monitor mode will need to be enabled within zcct tool. This can be enabled by clicking the eye icon with the line through it located in the top right corner of the page.
- Create lux targets for each group or area on the Light Lux page. Create a lux set points based on the values recorded in step one.
- On the Control Devices tab assign target and lux target.
Note: If more than one lux sensor points to a single target (usually a group), the lux sensor will set the light level to ensure every lux sensor reads at or above their lux target. This means that some lux sensors may read considerably more than the set value if they are controlling a group that also has lux sensors in a darker area.
For this reason, it is advised to use smaller groups in areas that might see a larger amount of natural light. For example, it is common practice to use a group dedicated to those lights closest to a window with a separate group for those lights further away.
