Dimming modes

The zencontrol Control4 driver supports both arc level dimming and standard DALI up/down dimming. Below is a brief overview of the available dimming options.

Two dimming types are supported:

• Arc Level Dimming
• Up/Down Dimming

Both dimming types allow the ramp speed to be adjusted using standard DALI Fade Rate or Fade Time commands within the zencontrol software.

For Arc Level Dimming, use Fade Time.

For Up/Down Dimming, use Fade Rate.

Additionally, for Up/Down Dimming within Control4, you can select how the device behaves when dimmed down using the Dim-down Behaviour setting:

• Dim to Min
  The lights will dim to the minimum level and will not turn off. To align with Control4 behaviour, if the lights are off, the first command will turn the lights on to minimum.
• Dim to Off
  The lights will turn off when dimmed to the bottom of the range.
