zencontrol supports the synchronisation of scenes from the zencontrol system directly into Control4.
Scene and group names can be automatically synchronised into Control4 using the Sync with zencontrol option available on the controller Actions page.
Using either Sync with zencontrol or Commission with zencontrol will update scenes in Control4. Any new scenes, or changes to existing scene names, will be synchronised to the Room Group controller, allowing those scenes to be assigned to buttons within Control4.
For customers who want to create more advanced automations using Control4 programming, zencontrol scenes are also automatically created in the Advanced Lighting Scene Agent. This makes it easy to include those scenes in Control4 programs.
All scenes created in the zencontrol system can be brought into Control4 using either Sync with zencontrol or Commission with zencontrol. The difference between the two is that Sync with zencontrol updates scenes that have already been added, while Commission with zencontrol both updates existing scenes and adds any new scenes discovered on the zencontrol system.
When scenes are used in rooms that also contain devices such as fan controllers, it is recommended that the fan controller be set to level 255 when creating scenes in the zencontrol system. This setting means do nothing, allowing the room scene to control lighting or other devices while leaving the fan available for independent control through other buttons or directly from the Control4 user interface.
Installers also have the option to disable scene creation or adjust scene visibility through the Control4 system properties.
