Do I need to decommission a self testing emergency device before adding the Wi-Fi board?

No. 

You can simply plug the Wi-Fi daughter board into compatible standalone emergency devices without decommissioning it first. 

When inserting a Wi-Fi daughter board into an existing emergency device commissioned to self-test mode, the previous and current tests will be erased.
